they weren’t gay I’d laugh, say totally, & think on how people can convince themselves of anything. & when I was tiny, how people asked if I was a boy or girl because I only wore boys clothes but had a pink baby room. & when they’d say I was a lesbian because I read comic books and rode a skateboard, I’d say they were wrong. because that’s not why I’m gay, that’s why I’m cool. & while those words are etymological cousins of sorts, there’s no way to look correctly gay; so time your take sweet periwinkle.
